If You Are New To eBay

I’ve recently received several email requests to teach classes on how to sell on eBay. I’m sorry for any confusion, but I’ve retired from teaching and this blog is not an online eBay training class.

Auction Mechanics was created as a eBay seller’s resource to help you BUILD your business. And I’m still setting up the resource directory.

But if you want to get started on eBay right away, you need to set up an eBay account and register online. eBay is a private club and you can’t buy or sell if you aren’t a member. All you can do is browse around.

You also need to set up a PayPal account for sending and receiving eBay payments. PayPal is accepted by thousands of eBay sellers worldwide and is the preferred payment method on eBay.com. And eBay owns PayPal.

Here’s My eBay Newbie #1 Tip: If you haven’t ever bought anything on eBay, forget about starting an eBay business until you learn how to bid and buy on eBay first!

You simply need to experience the entire eBay process from a buyer’s point of view to learn how it all works before you start selling. You also need to buy eBay items from several different sellers to see how each seller handles your order.

And if you don’t like buying on eBay, or you think it’s too much trouble, I promise you will hate life as an eBay seller because it’s 10 times more work.

Forget the eBay ads about how much fun it. It is a great home business, but it’s also a real JOB. EBay is not a set-and-forget business. It only works if you work at it!

But if you do like being an eBay customer, and aren’t afraid of hard work, you can start learning how to sell on eBay (for FREE) with the eBay online video classes. These step-by-step guides, from the eBay University Learning Center, will show you how to set up to sell on eBay.

Have fun!:-)
